Thank you for responding. I was under the impression that Batavia was where the gun was made and that they were labled in Grades of A, B and Parigon, which were different from the Leader model. I also originally thought this is an A grade, but wonder if it could be a Parigon.
Sp studio systems excalibur 3200 manual. Found my AB800 mount was cracked and with windy blowing it kept moving the octabox as it is quite long modifier.

My research into the Baker is as faollows; A Grade 1892-1908 Three blade Damascus barrels, same engraving as B grade, better wood and finish B Grade 1892-1909 London twist, good line and scroll engraving with dog and bird on locks, better wood and finish than Leader model Paragon Grade 1894-1919 very fine Damascus or Krupp barrels, fine scroll and game scene engraving, best quality wood, checkering and finish, special order only Thank you for your information on the value and for taking the time to respond. I have added more pic to show the checkering and grain of the stock and the fine damascus consistent with the Paragon. Hello, Your gun is either an A or a B grade. The only way to tell is to look at the barrels. An A will have Damascus and a B will have Twist. If you upload close ups on the barrel pattern I can identify that for you.
Baker Side By Side Shotguns
The pictures shown are hard to see the pattern. The fore end has some poor repairs (the screws in the bottom) and would need to replaced in order for a collector to want it but then you defeat the purpose because now it would have replaced wood. Your stock has some gouge marks near the end of the side plates which leads me to believe there is hairline crack in the stock, but maybe not. Your screws are what I would call butchered. Here is some information on both the A and B grade. A: Made in: 10ga with 30 or 32 inch barrels 12ga - 28, 30 or 32 inch barrels 16ga - with 28 or 30 inch barrels Serial numbers range from 1-7000 for this grade(A and B mixed) which puts your gun within the last 100 A's and B's made.
In the 6000 range A's and B's should be marked 'A' or 'B' in the serial number but 'should be' is not always true. Made from 1892-1908 Cost to manufacture: $50.00 Design: Sidelock with minimal scroll engraving and a dog or bird. B: Made in: 10ga with 30 or 32 inch barrels 12ga - 28, 30 or 32 inch barrels 16ga - with 28 or 30 inch barrels Serial numbers range from 1-7000 for this grade(A and B mixed) which puts your gun within the last 100 A's and B's made. In the 6000 range A's and B's should be marked 'A' or 'B' in the serial number but 'should be' is not always true. Made from 1892-1909 Cost to manufacture: $40.00 Design: Sidelock with minimal scroll engraving and a dog or bird. A Grade) Value in current state: $100-350 B Grade) Value in current state: $100-300 These are My prices.
Prices vary on who you talk to. There is no 'Standard Book Price' and no two people will tell you the same amount. Attached is one page of the '1909 Baker Gunner'. It lists the B grade but not the A. If you would like to or nhl sabres.
